Abstract: | Language is a matter which needs to consider in writing. This study aims to reveal the usage of representative language by Ernest Hemingway to portray human relationships in the story ‘Cat in the Rain’. The plot, themes and characters of the story have been used as the relevant materials to come out with the identifications related to the application of language. By referring to the plot, it is easy to identify the employment of the language to build up the main themes and to relate them with the main characters. The selected characters of the story have used to analyze the dynamic interrelationships and communications among characters. It has found out all the highlighted characters are maintaining a direct but palpable relation with the plot of the story through the representative language that the author has used. Further, the study has revealed that Hemingway’s language is rich with picture interpretation techniques. |
